Eltham Carrera Marble
This was a painted Flat Victorian marble surround which was hidden under layers of paint. Once stripped back the Marble was repainted and repolished and the insert blasted and repainted fitted on a slate hearth really bought it back to life.
Marble Restoration SW19
This shows what is possible with a marble surround. The insert was behind the board and gas fire. We supplied all the correct parts from patterns and stripped and repainted the cast iron insert. The marble was stripped cleaned and polished prior to being reinstalled with a slate hearth for solid fuel use. What an amazing transformation!
SW17 Tiled Register
This time we headed over to SW17 to remove a tiled register from a bedroom which needed quite a bit of work. We stripped it down and took care of the tiles by cleaning them up. We also replaced all the missing parts including the grate, bars, ash pan cover, and the hood. All recast from our original patterns. we sandblasted the whole fireplace and repainted in a heat resistant matt black paint. Finally we replaced two of the fire bricks as they were cracked and broken. Fitted on a beautiful made to measure slate hearth matching the shelf dimensions.
Britannia Restoration
Again back in Brixton to finish off another restoration for the same customer. please see his glowing review on our Facebook and testimonial pages. Firstly we removed the tiled register (The Britannia) and sandblasted the frame which was missing every part including the shelf as it was a wood replacement. We replaced the Shelf; back assembly, hood, bars, ash pan cover, tile frames and the grate. All from our original patterns we have cast over the years. We then refitted the fireplace on a custom tiled hearth by our fitter along with the customers own tiles.
